After having received over a hundred emails from folks around Kokomo telling us how much they enjoy NIK, and how much a good many people believe our forum can do for Howard County, Pattiwaq and I have decided to re-launch NIK as of today.

As promised in a message to our users, NIK has had a complete overhaul, including dumping over 22,000 posts that had accumulated for three years.

We've also added VBulletin 3.7, which allows registered users to maintain Blogs of their own... much like the one being used to write this post. I would encourage our users to start their own... as everyone has something to contribute.

You'll also notice a new 'look and feel' for the NIK website. Local news headlines will appear on the right side of our main page. You can read more, or go the actual news article by following links provided.

In the coming week(s), we'll also add community calendar features and other interesting content.

Many users have inquired as to 'why?' we pulled the forum off-line. Well, NIK was becoming something a whole lot different from what I had envisioned when starting this adventure several years ago.

Disrespectful, anonymous name-calling had become the norm, and it became quite a burden for us to decide what was worthwhile content.

This forum... your forum... is meant as a place where people can come and post... or read... things that are helpful and have meaning.

It is my hope we can return to that level of service.

We will retain our 'Free-for-all', but content within that area will be highly moderated and posts that we feel do not meet our 'Terms of Use' requirements will be deleted quickly and without comment.

I would encourage any 'Unregistered' users to review this document before posting.

We, our forum 'community'... clearly believe NIK can serve its intended purpose.
