Default Forum Features 1 : Private Messaging

Recently I've become aware that many of our registered members are not aware of all the features our software has to offer... or how to use them.

So... I'll be exploring some of the neat features of VBulletin in the next few posts so that you can fully benefit from your membership in our NIK Community...

    First up.. Private Messaging

Private messaging allows you to send a private, off the board message to an NIK user. It's simple, convenient and very easy. Here's the best way...

If you see a post from a user you'd like to send a message to, simply left click your mouse on his/her name..

Select 'Send a Message to... whoever... and then you'll see this screen:

Type your message and click send at the bottom.

    Viola... you're done.

I sent this message to myself (NotinKokomo) from a user account called 'Test User'.

Here's how my screen looked right afterward, on the top right:

See that bold message saying Your Notifications: 1?

That means I've got a message! Let's go look...

... and here's the message 'Test User' sent.

    Enjoy!

I hope to cover a lot more features in the next few weeks, but if you something you're particularly curious about... please ask!

    Thanks,

    NIK

Private messaging is different than a visitor message? Is a visitor message public?

A visitor message is public and viewable via the members profile.

    Private messages are private.

    Thanks,

I sent myself a private message and was afraid to answer it. Ya never know...it could have been one of those perverts running around nowadays. LOL
