    Default Why change now??

This is a funny problem with Miami County/.....And they dont get it!! They all complain and ***** about their poor county with its slow agonizing death, but dont understand why! This is typical and to be expected. The Sheriff is just one of many positions held by people with out a clue, why do you think Miami County is in the position they are? Why are they called Clown Town? Why is unemployment off the charts, poor schools, no retail, no shopping, no jobs....etc... It is because of the people that live there! Ask them how they vote and follow that up with why they voted that way and it tells the entire story. Uneducated, uninformed, poor unfortunate group of people all being lead like sheep.

Default Sad day in Miami County

The sheriff of Miami County is in critical condition right now after suffering a stroke. This is the best Sheriff Miami County has ever seen. He is a retired trooper, fbi academy grad, college grad and has hundreds of hours of advanced training. The sheriff is the kind of cop any county would be proud to have. He has done amazing things for Miami County and we can only hope he will recover. Everyone should pray for Sheriff Roland during these trying times.

Default Miller looks better all the time

I didnt support or vote for Miller ( and I dont know any one who did). But the fact that he is now saying he will kick RD and his wife to the curb encourages me. This was the most unified support of law enforcement in recent history ( for the other guy) and Mille won. If Miller "gets rid of the dead weight" like I heard him say he will, then he may work out ok. Tim said he realizes he had to make some unsavory deals to get elected, but he also said he will sever those ties to make his Law Enforcement co-workers more comfortable. That is all good news and it may help him mend some wounds in the Police World (at least in Miami County where 90% did not support him). I say even though I voted for the other guy, good luck Tim and I hope you do clean house.

In his words, you have to seperate politics from common sense. Hmmm maybe there is hope to improve the laughing stock of law enforcement.... With thoughts like those he will continue to get support from other cops.

Tim won by a better than 3 to 1 vote. I'd say he has a lot of support in Miami county.

Default Or did the other guy lose??

Cant deny history in Miami County...No City cop has ever won sheriff, and no trooper has ever lost. So did Miller win or did the city cop just lose?? Either way another trooper is the sheriff in miami county. And it is still true that law enforcement supported the other guy, so he still has some wounds to heal.

Its simple voting mathematics...more people reside in rural Miami county than in Peru. It doesn't matter the qualifications of any city cop running........as a whole they just don't like city cops.

    Default Correct

Your right Stoner, and they continue to prove it election after election. Problem is, they also dont care about who is qualified or prepared to do the job. So they get what they get and the county continues to struggle and die. One day, well maybe not in Miami County. Voters will start paying attention to which candidates will do the best job, have the most to offer and stop just voting with their knee jerk reaction, current admin. proves that huh

I haven't been into town for awhile. Is our new Sheriff up and running yet?
