We all know that there are some, and probably just a few, that get their jollies by trashing someone they have absolutely no knowledge of. Somebody please rise to the occasion and list the qualifications of each of these candidates so they can be fairly judged as to their suitability for the office pursued. Or is that an impossible task for any posters on this site?

Since it's clear the other poster didnt provide more, here are thee facts.

Under Sheriff J.D. Beatty, Vincent was suspended for 89 days for womanizing and not doing his job. The time was reduced to 89 day from the original suggestion.

In 2001 he received a 5 day suspension for not being where he was supposed to be and chasing after a officers wife.

These are facts that are public record! The man should NEVER be in a position of authority like Sheriff!

I understand that. I would not vote for a guy that likes women for sheriff.

Surely you can do better when you trash a man.

Grumpy, the info the unregistered posted listed is correct and factual. There is a lot more he or she left out. Knowing Harold well I couldn't feel that I could ever trust him to do the job of Sheriff, due to his own issues and lack of integrity.

The people who run for office better understand that their past and current issues will always come back to haunt them.

J.D. Beatty was sheriff when? 2001 was how long ago ? Is there a statute of limitations on personal grudges or do they last a lifetime?

Nothing said so far has anything to do with holding the job or how well he can do the job. That is also true with every post so far about any candidate for office. Voter should be more involved in how the offices will be filled instead of the candidates personal lives. Of course, every poster on here is a candidate for sainthood and qualified to make these moral judgments. Sometimes I forget that.

His current and past actions play a big role. Why would we ever vote for someone who keep his private part in his pants? If he's done it before and still does it, he will continue to do it as sheriff.

I understand your moral outrage. But what does that have to do with running a Sheriffs office or directing the deputy's ? It is not the priesthood and the county employees have proven that they need a strong leader.

Frequently we confuse the requirements needed to hold an office and lead with our moral or religious beliefs and forget that other people might have different standards as to what makes strong leaders.

    Just a friendly heads up:

Libel; A false and malicious publication printed for the purpose of defaming a living person.

A libel case consists of published material with the following criteria: (1) The material is defamatory; (2) the written statements are about someone who is identifiable and living; (3) the material is distributed to someone other than the victim.
What’s the difference between liberals and puppies? Puppies stop whining when they grow up.

Morals have a lot to do with it. Why would anyone elect an offical to a high office like sheriff and not expect them to be a role model. This guy would be a role model for people who have no values or credibility. I cant stand Marty but I'd rather work for him then Vincent! At least Marty has morals, no common sense but morals.
