There is no problem. Thank you for your participation.
Feel free to post any time you like.
For the other posts (now deleted), the thread is clearly labeled and I'd assume if folks aren't interested in reading about Miami County issues they'd simply not read them.

No one can beat a State Trooper in a sheriff race anyway so what is the big discussion anyway. Weather it is Miami or Howard County if a trooper runs a trooper wins....watch and learn.
I saw an article in the Logansport paper yesterday with the announcement of this guy for the sheriff job. Looks good at this point, Im waiting to see the other guy and then pass judgement. I dont believe that just being a State Trooper will be enough.
I see the Miami County race really going strong, the problem is I only see one guys name. I heard from a neighbor that Vanbaalen is not running unopposed, but you wouldnt know it. There is a guy named Miller running too, but no one knows who he is or where he is from. I have searched for a web site or any news on him and found nothing. I have googled him and even archive searched the papers....nothing. Does anyone know who this guy is and what he offers?? I know it is a Miami county issue, but there are people on here from Miami County too.
ok to answer the question, I know both of them and to shock all I like them both too. they are very differant people, both in police work and in community relations. Tim Miller is on the Maconaquah school board and is a state trooper. Tim once owned a small police supply business, it is now out of business. He had 1 or 2 people working there with his family and it was a nice place. Tim is a private guy and not well known either in the police world or the community.
Dave comes from a hard working business family. His dad owned a small family sporting goods store in Peru and Kokomo. Dave worked at the store for years since he was very young and then started his own business career. Dave was Peru PD and was very well known in the Peru and Kokomo area for his work with Drugs and other departments. In Miami County there are few people that dont know Dave or his family. He is very involved and his businesses are very successful.
both are good guys with the right ideas for Miami County. The primary differance is experience and knowledge. Dave is hands down more qualified and ready for the job of Sheriff, he knows budgets and finance. The law enforcement community have rallied to back Van Baalen, not because they dont like Miller, just think Dave is the guy. So both are good guys both would be fine for Sheriff. I hope the race stays clean and no one gets muddy.
I just visited this web site for the first time and found it very well put together. I have avoided getting too fired up over the Sheriff race before now, but since candidates have now filed I decided to check them both out. I found Van Baalen on the web, but I can not find anything on Tim Miller. I can not find a web site or even any ref to him as a police officer. Maybe someone that knows him can point me in the right direction.
A city cop running for sheriff? He'll get forever lost on the winding desolate roads of Miami county.
Someone should tell him about the illegal cow tipping going on near the Miami Howard county line.
What’s the difference between liberals and puppies? Puppies stop whining when they grow up.
