    Default Great one Stoner

LOL, this is a great one stoner. But to add to it, do ya think the Highway Patrolman (State Trooper) will do any better once he leaves the comfort of US 31?? Heck Im not sure those guys would even know a cow if they saw it, unless of course it ran onto a highway while they were writing a speeding ticket.

Someone should tell him about the illegal cow tipping going on near the Miami Howard county line.

I watched a State Trooper pull over a guy driving a truck loaded with cattle. The Trooper busted him for having deer out of season.

Default Add me to the list

Ok Im guilty, I also do not know Tim Miller...Sorry. I do however know Dave Van Baalen and his family. Dave is a poster child for what any county would want in a Sheriff. I could see Dave running for Sheriff anywhere in America, not just in Miami County. Dave has grown up in Miami Count and raised his family there. Over the past 20 or so years he has opened many businesses and created hundreds of jobs for the people of Miami County. During that time he also was a full time police officer and drug enforcer. Dave was chief of police for the Peru Police Department and is very highly regarded by all those who know him. When you also consider his generous nature and the hundreds of kids he has sponsored and helped, how could you not like him for any elected position in your county?? I have nothing bad to say about Dave's opponent, just that he is not very well known in our community. But over the next couple of months we will learn and hear more about both of these men. I will support Dave 100% just like he has always supported Miami County!

    Default Help

As this race heats up many of us want to make a good and informed decision. I dont want to speak for everyone but I would love to know more about Miller. I found Van Baalen web page and tons of info by just using search engine. I cant find anything on Miller. He apparently does not have a web page and even when you search him you get zero. I would hope someone knows something about this guy,or is he really that unknown. Are there any supporters out there that can give us some direction on where to learn more about this guy. So far all I know is he is a Trooper and Mac School Board member...that is it!!

Maybe Miller is going to do a "the last 30 days blitz." He needs to do something if he truly is in this game.

    Default 30 Days to Victory

Miller plans on shock and awe in the last 30 days. He is a State Trooper and we have all come to consenses that troopers are superior and make for great sheriffs. In 30 simple days this race will be won and again Troopers will show their dominance in the law enforcement arena! Get ready Miami County!

Default Good luck Dave Van Baalen

I have known Dave and his family for 30 years and I am proud to call them friends. I have seen first hand how hard this family has worked to serve the people of Miami County. They are all hard working and humble people that do amazing things for their community. Dave has been blessed with a great sense of business and has become very successful, but never lost sight of who he is and where he comes from. While at the Peru Police Department he made a lasting impression on the men and women that work there and they are supporting him now in his bid for Sheriff. I do not know Tim Miller, and have nothing bad to say about him or his family. I am like most people in that I know the Van Baalens and have seen the results of their work. I just want to say good luck to Dave and hope he is our next County Sheriff.

    Default Obvious Choice

Ok folks, it is time to elect our next Sheriff. Lets take a close look shall we?

1 Candidate has a college degree
1 Candidate has executive level administrative experience
1 Candidate took the time and effort to attend the FBI National Academy
1 Candidate has managed multi million dollar budgets
1 Candidate has opened and owned dozens of businesses in Miami County
1 Candidate has experience in managing a staff of 30 or more full time employees
1 Candidate is endorsed by the Miami County FOP
1 Candidate is ready to manage our new jail on his first day

Nothing bad here about the other candidate, just real plain facts that can not be disputed. I say vote with your head and use some common sense. Good luck Miami County, do the right thing ....Vote Dave Van Baalen for Sheriff.

I'm sure this guy is the real deal however, maybe there should be a "NotinPeru.com" I don't know why Peru issues are here. Who cares about Mayberry er I mean Peru? It speaks volumes when Wal-Mart won't even build a store in Peru!
