I do have a question or two.

Posters here have intimated Mr. Trine's son is 'special'. Does that mean he is disabled in some way? If so, I think that fact should have been included in your article.

Additionally, since the Perspective chose to report this... you should have also reported exactly how much Trine's son earns in this position, if the position is difficult to fill (or was it advertised and other potential hires considered), and if it has been filled in the past or created for Trine. These are questions voters will ask.

As an aside, the other article in this week's Perspective of interest attacked the Sheriff and seemed favorable to others. I think I'm an intelligent person... yet found the reporting completely incomprehensible. Perhaps you should give Mr. Turner some lessons in lucent newspaper writing .

Concerning the political advertising that appears in the Perspective, nearly every candidate for public office purchases advertising in the Perspective during any given election cycle. In fact, the alleged victim in this affair -- Dave Trine -- has attributed his electoral success in 2006 to his advertising in the Perspective. Any statements to the contrary appearing on this forum, again, are made with absolutely no direct knowledge and no contact with anyone working at the Perspective. Therefore, the majority of the comments made in this regard are substantively, if not wholly, fallacious and are completely without veracity. Again, I welcome you to provide evidence to the contrary.

Rather than assume that an anonymous statement made on these forums hold any semblance of accuracy concerning the Kokomo Perspective, I invite you to call our office at 452-0055 and check it out for yourself. To my knowledge, this has not been the practice. Therefore, any statement pertaining to the Perspective contained in this forum must be considered made without due diligence.

And as always, feel free to love us or hate us. Just be sure to read us. We know you do.

First - NIK - will you now apologize to Wyman for allowing these malicious and false statements being on your web site? Does it not bother you at all that you allow this type of bashing on someones character without any fact checking?

This site trashes him with more untruths than any one person deserves. Taking time to go back through some earlier posts today, NIK you admitted you never tried to reach wyman. He is a public official, his email is everywhere including county site and you know he has a business web site. Surely NIK you have google? With your tech abilities, you really couldnt find a way to contaxct him to see if he would answer your questions? Instead you just allow the bashing to continue? How can you ever question the Kokomo Perspectives integrity with what you allow to happen here?

Let the courageous post by pat muncey be a lesson to all readers of this site, that anonymous post bashing people should be given zero credibitlity. That is the only downside to this site.

The exchange of ideas and debate of the issues is a good one, but NIK has allowed it to become more than that. he has allowed for people to be hurt, their families to be hurt by out right lies and for the record to always be factless and unchecked.

Ultimaetly NIK this is about money to you, thats why you allow it and to accuse the perspective of the taking money for stories, you are no different. The more trash on your site, the more readers the more google pays you in ads money. Lets not be so quick to point the finger.

A few small fixes and this site could be a credible force in dialogue for the communites it reaches, but while unchecked character bashing goes on it will only attract those that live is such darkness.

The fact still remains that Wyman visited Howard Haven to inquire about an employee and Mr. Trine was even given a heads up by a KP reporter that the story was going to run without any comments in the story from Wyman. Regardless, it is a travesty to pick on a child like Bobby Trine and that was the intent to get a jab at Dave. Has the KP not investigated the nepotism going on in the city administration? No, they just want to hurt a "special" child to get at his father, all in the name of negative politics.

NIK, postings about Wyman visiting Howard Haven and wanting the story done is what happened. Howard Haven knows what took place. This site can be a credible dialogue and sometimes gets off base, but when there is a story published everyone has the right to comment.

Not unlike you. Why must you keep this subject alive ? You don't seem to be showing any respect either.

Funny how Muncey stated he got the story from Trine himself... Is Muncey lying about that? If trine said it why wuld Wyman go to Howard Haven?

Ok then - since you have the "facts" about Wyman visiting Howard Haven, when did he go and who did he speak too? Then we can call and verify the truth and report back. is that fair?
