Mr. Sutton, Robo is as bad of a cop as you are a wrecker driver. That should put things into perspective for those that do not know Roberson.

I see two things wrong with this statement. One you called Sutton "Mr" and two Robo has never been cop material to begin with.

The last I knew Bobby Salinas was running the unit, personally I like him and think he can do a good job if the mess is cleaned up.... But keep in mind that the leadership is only as good as the Mayor and Chief will let it be.... In other words the Chief has control of the unit and the decisions he makes have to be followed according to the rules and regulations...

The only prudent thing for the county to do since there is so much bad blood between Roberson and KPD is to replace him and put him back on the street in uniform.... The Sheriff needs to become more involved in the administrative control of the drug unit rather than sitting in his office pouting.... KPD officers have made it very clear they don't want him back...

The Sheriff needs to begin a process of reviewing potential candidates for the task force and make a selection based on skills, experience and credibility.... As I said before Roberson was put in the position because no one else wanted it....

The drug unit at one time was considered a elite operation with only the best qualified officers selected.... It used to be a honor to be part of the unit.... Currently no one shows interest because the standards bar has sunk to a new all time low and the bar is laying on the ground.... The only hope to re-gain credibility is for the Sheriff to stand his ground with the Chief and new guidelines for the Drug task force be established.... To keep the unit clean annual drug tests should be done and the members progress review reguraly.... This unit isn't a free ride as a few believe it is.... Its dangerous, thankless work that only a handful are capable of doing.... Catty
Law enforcement has fell apart under the leadership of Baker/Goodnight and Talbert. I feel for the cops who try and do a good job and have to wade through the crap to do it.

Default New Blood

Anyone ever consider bringing in new blood not connected to either the county or City? Let the 2 agencies both assign their choices and then let the new administrator run the unit as a seperate department without either county or city pushing their agenda. Just a thought??

It wouldnt work. An administrator needs to know about law enforcement on a local level to be able to run the until..

I dont care what they do as long as they keep Roberson at the SD and out of everyones hair. Marty do you have a civil process job for him, I think he might be able to handle that position..

Never work. He would spend too much time being lost in the county to deliver papers.
