Sorry. You are the one who's wrong. I have talked to Canadians. Ones who were put on those lists and would have died waiting on that "free" care had they not come to the states and got what they needed.

I could introduce you to people who are alive today only because they could come to the states from Canada to get the operations they needed........Also, there have been a couple instances in the news lately that show our health care is far superior to Canada's. Like the celebrity who had the skiing accident. She would have lived had it happened here.......

Baloney. We have slipped to 47th in the world on infant mortality. 51st on life expectancy. How in the hell can you say we have the best system in the world? That is just factually wrong. 45% of the cost in the US pays for administration. This is where we are getting screwed. The CEO of Anthem received a bonus earlier this year of 53 million dollars. This is whats wrong with our system. 50 million not covered drives the cost for those who do have it through the damn roof. It needs to be fixed.

Apparently, you have a better way than individual freedom and decision making. What would that be? A governmental solution? I am sure its a dandy. They seem to do so well with everything they get their hands on.

It seems that you are the one shouting give us MORE, MORE, MORE. If thats not greed, I don't know what is.

Come back to reality and realize that Government can't replace individual freedom. No matter how grand your intentions are, there are always unintended consequences.

Freedom just makes more sense, don't you think?

Smile where do u get your facts?

how many people do you know that have gone to Canada, Sweden, etc to get healthcare? I'm not talking about new boobs, or sex change. I'm talking about life/death diseases and issues? we go to Canada for meds i hear (because they're cheaper), but i truly haven't heard of americans going to countries w/national healthcare for medical treatments. (because of the wait) did you know that hawaii had state run child health care for about 7 months and they stopped it because it didn't work? Hot Air Blog Archive Shock: People take advantage of free government health care
people figure if joe shmoe is getting free health care and I'm footing the bill for it, why the hell should i pay for my insurance........ill just drop it and get the freebies too. and that's just what did happen, and what will happen if national healthcare is put in place.

Heard an interview w/a doctor and one w/a senator from there talking about it just last week. medicaid and medicare are gov run and those are working just swell aint they? if you say they are then you either haven't applied for caid since it was privatized, and you prob aren't old enough that medicare is an issue for you. as far as medicaid goes, if they'd just drug and alcohol test every person who receives it each month then the money would surely be freed up for people who actually get off their backs from birthing babies, going to jail, doing and selling drugs, not working and not paying taxes. im not talking about everyone on caid, but a good lot of em. not hearsay............where i work i see these slackers every day. and don't get me started on the illegals getting benefits created for American citizens. no matter how you put it................ILLEGAL is ILLEGAL.

I have no idea who you are, (other than a racist red-neck) but you can't be so dumb to spell and type the way you have. It is obvious you are trying to cover up who you are, but lets talk about some facts.

Fact, the other country's wait is no different than in the US if you are seeking a specialist, that's a fact. The other country's have certain protections against foreigners coming in and getting free health care, as they should. However, the facts are clear, the mortality rate in other Industrialized country's are higher than the US, their citizens live longer than here in the US.

Our system for profit has failed and is failing millions of good, hard working, citizens. Many senior's (not yet qualified for medicare) are losing their health care because their plants have closed and they are being offered COBRA at $1400 a month (think about that, no job, but you can have health care if you pay $1400 a month) where the hell do they get the money? 47 million+ without health care, because the only job is McDonald's, Wendy's etc.. etc.. etc.. and it would cost them more than they earn to pay for health care --- where the hell do they get it?

Everyone is not lazy. Everyone is not "just trying to milk the system". You greedy ass right-wingers are the first to cry when you fall flat on your ass, but let it be someone else and you say the hell with them. You are pathetic...

You should really READ the proposed Health Care Legislation, HR 3200.

We've obtained a copy, courtesy of a Congressman.

Click here for the PDF, all 1017 pages of it.

I was a little intimidated by Section 1233 (starting on page 424) that deals with "Advanced Care Planning Consultation".

Here's a quote from the section (page 427)
Quote:
‘‘(iii) A program for orders for life sustaining treatment for a States described in this clause is a program that—

‘‘(I) ensures such orders are standardized and uniquely identifiable throughout the State;

‘‘(II) distributes or makes accessible such orders to physicians and other health professionals that (acting within the scope of the professional’s authority under State law) may sign orders for life sustaining treatment;

‘‘(III) provides training for health care professionals across the continuum of care about the goals and use of orders for life sustaining treatment; and

‘‘(IV) is guided by a coalition of stakeholders includes representatives from emergency medical services, emergency department physicians or nurses, state long-term care association, state medical association, states surveyors, agency responsible for senior services, state department of health, state hospital association, home health association, state bar association, and state hospice association.
The bold part seems to suggest some scary intervention into personal health decisions in regard to "Life Sustaining Treatment".

Please let your Congressman AND Senators know your thoughts on this Bill.
