    Default Keynesian economic policy...

Sure seems like a lot of folks are using this 'theory' as a way to justify our huge amount of government spending lately.

I'm not a fan of Keynes, or for that matter macro-economists with short World views (my opinion).

I went out and found this video from the Cato Institute which I think does a decent job of explaining why Keynesian policies won't work.

    What do you think?

    Good stuff NIK.

It is pretty easy to understand why Keynesian Econ won't work.

That's why I am beginning to suspect that they are willingly trying to wreck the economy. I am starting to believe that they hold such contempt for the capitalist system that they are trying to destroy it.

It is starting to look like they were right during the election when they said Obama was a socialist. I guess he lied when he denied it.

Your clip made me think of Ben Stein in 'Ferris Beuller's Day Off':

You talk about the huge amount of spending, what about the 700 billion we have spent on the iraq war? I guess we needed that!

700 billion put us on both sides of Iran as they try to develop a bomb. I'd call it money well spent. The freedom for the Iraqi people is a nice byproduct.

    Thanks.

While at the same time we let North Korea develop a bomb. And so far have done nothing to stop Iran from enriching uranium. It's hard to stop a country from enriching uranium when China and Russia has it's back.

And for the record, the reason we went into Iraq and Afghanistan was not to stop Iran from building a bomb. We invaded Iraq because Saddam posed a threat to the world because of his WMD's and Afghanistan was harboring terrorists. 8 years after 9/11 and 6 years after invading Iraq we have so far never found Bin Laden or WMD's. So to say that our government is NOW wasting money and overspending is absurd. The total cost of the future veteran's benefits for these wars will cost in excess of 1-2 trillion.

Again I will ask the question. How can people be so partisan in their thought that they are unwilling to question the policies or motives of the party they support. It doesn't seem like true Patriotic thinking when you are unwilling to question ALL government actions. I will never vote for a person because of the party they run on and be unwilling to question those people on those policies. To me, that smells more of Nazi Germany than anything else (the unwillingness to question the state).

I think that started long before obama took office. What about bush's illegal wire taps?

Yea what about the last 8 years where we lived with the "Patriot Act". It's funny how you complain about the current administration but are unable to come to grips with the fact that the last administration did the same things as far as stopping our freedoms. But I guess it was ok because those terrorists were going to steal my lunch money and cut my sisters head off right? Please learn to take a partisan look at everything instead of believing that one party is always right. Then you can truly see that what is going on now has been going on in the past.

Just a question for you all. Back in October, were you complaining about the TARP money being lent to the banks with no questions asked? It would be interesting to see if you had the same complaints with a different administration.
