I'd say this is a very true statement, it's just a matter of time before the hammer drops. Goodnight will have no choice but to take action when presented with facts from the current investigation.

Why do people still come on here and make the comment - 'They broke the chain of command.' and expect this whole thing to be cut and dry because of that fact?

How could you not see the bigger picture in this? They did just what any of us would do (I hope) if your superiors were involved in some way with what is happening. What would the out come of been had they of taken it to their superiors? More hiding of evidence and forcing people to be silent about it, possibly?

For once I agree with the Sheriff on his statement in this weeks Perspective - "If someone has information on one of my guys, I want them to go outside of this department and get it resolved," said Talbert. "I would applaud their efforts. None of my officers will be punished for contacting an outside agency for help if they see something wrong."

Smile Goodnight loses all three contracts

Goodnight may lose on annexation just like he is on union votes.

KPD just voted down Goodnight's union contract proposal. The fire deparment likewise voted Goodnight's proposal down with 100% of the vote against him. Earlier in the week AFSCME also voted down Goodnight's offer by a vote of 72 to 2. On top of this, non-contractual workers are signing cards to join the unions.

All this from the former union man who promised workers the world. Goodnight is so hated that now almost all city employees are begging to have Dodd and McKillip back.

The latest, Goodnight says he will start laying workers off since the contracts were rejected.

Oh my gosh!

sorry...

WOW! REALLY? WOW!

I was thinking the same thing, but then I realized juveniles have more sense than they do.

Interesting, I just spent some quality time with Special Agent Kunkel of the FBI and he didn't think this was about nothing. I'm guessing that this is going to get very messy for all who covered the investigation up and for those who were being investigated. Justice takes time. Just ask God.

If the two officers in question had presented the chief with a copy of what was sent over his head, they would not have broke the chain. So the discipline handed down would have been worded differently. The wording is not as important as the fact two of the chain have committed an obstruction of justice and have been caught red handed. A court of law will hand down their discipline.

Thanks for the update. From what I'm hearing 'down south', there may be even more to the story.

In my opinion, the Feebie's are far from done on this.

NIK I'm surprised that the Indy media hasn't jumped on this yet. I was told they will wait until arrests are made and be here for the television coverage. Just what Kokomo need some more bad press, the boys and girls at the county are just getting over the Sheriffs "Call Ch.6 for help" embarrassing bullet interview......

If warrants are issued and arrests made this will be a media circus............

Camper, I can't disagree that it will be a media circus, but how else do you think this whole mess can or will be resolved? Its not as if it will just dry up and go away. The city still has to deal with the whole Board of Works issue with Davis and Kirk and that is all open to the public. I seriously doubt they will allow this to simply go away.
Between the Board of Works issues and the potential criminal indictments against officers and or the mayor, this mess could drag on for the remainder of McGoon-nights term.
