Default Obama knows best..

More nanny state pap from the Obama reich. This time it is lamps.

The fun part is when he starts quoting numbers for 2012-2042:

"Obama said the new efficiency standards he was announcing for lamps would result in substantial savings between 2012 and 2042, saving consumers up to $4 billion annually, conserving enough energy to power every U.S. home for 10 months, reducing emissions equal to the amount produced by 166 million cars a year, and eliminating the need for as many as 14 coal-fired power plants. "

Am I supposed to believe these figures? This is the guy who promised that unemployment wouldn't go above 8% if we passed the stimulus package. Said if we didn't, it would rise to 9%. After passing his stimulus bill, we are at almost 10% only a few short months later. I don't trust this administration's figures on anything.

You're funny. I haven't trusted an administration in 20 years. Remember when Iraq had WMD's? 6 years later we are just now leaving major cities. Did you post stuff like this on Bush's agenda or are you just partisan and think that all Republicans are equal to Jesus? Just wondering because it seems that the last three Presidents have had bad policies. If you are going to pick on policies, please do so on a bipartisan standard. Only then will you seem credible...

Oh, Lookout... there's more.

Alan Carlin, an EPA Economist ( he has been an EPA employee since 1971, and prior to that worked with RAND from 1963... a MIT Ph. D.) chose to debunk the theory of 'Global Warming' that is the basis of current Cap-and-Trade Legislation.

He's been threatened with his job and his opinions were purposely not included in the EPA 'position paper' the agency gave to Congress.

I was talking with people in Kokomo over the weekend about this issue. Would it scare you to know over 70 percent of them didn't have a clue what Cap-and-Trade is?

Would you think it bothered them when I revealed Electricity rates in Indiana could TRIPLE as a result of this poorly-thought-out legislation?

No 'transparency' in this administration, I'm afraid.

Get real. Why would i be talking about Bush, or Clinton, or Bush right now?

This administration is full of crap and it is in control. That is why I post regarding their actions. Perhaps one day I'll do a historical piece on GWB.

I don't think all Republicans are equal to Jesus. I've never said anything like that. All I have to do is look at Kokomo Government and see that that is not the case. I've got Republicans within 10 miles of my house that aren't fit to be in office. Karickhoff, Summers, and Baer are pretty good examples.

Obama is a big government, nanny-stater extremist. I feel his policies are bad for America, and he is moving quickly on them. I am young, and I have young kids. The guys policies scare me.

Wait, were you defending the lamp laws, or were you just trying to shush me?

Again I will come back to ask why does this suprise you? There hasn't been transparency in the white house for 222 years. It's a riot to get on here and read that you don't see "transparency". I just don't see how all these people can be so blinded by their beliefs to realize that this happens with every new President. Can you honestly sit there and say that the last President was 100% transparent? Do some homework and realize that that will NEVER happen no matter who you elect. You think by how smart you folks try to be that you would have figured that out by now. Or maybe I am the only one with common sense.

Poster, what do you suggest we do? Ignore it?

It seems to me that you are the one who is trying to "act smart." But ignoring collectivist "do what the state tells you" policies isn't smart poster.

Ask the Eastern Europeans how smart that is.

I only bring it up because this is not new and to act like it is seems to be ridiculous. And all Presidents are for big government, just in different forms. And I hope you do a true historical piece on every President to show how similar they all are.

Depends on how the permits are handed out. If coal fired power plants emit a lot of CO2 then they will get more permits which shouldn't affect prices compared to less CO2 emitting industries who will take more of the hit.

No I suggest we do more than post on a tabloid website like this. Call your Senator, call your Congressman, get the public motivated outside this website which only 50 people truly read. Don't post on here and then go around acting like you took action and spoke out. This site does not cut it. Do you think the American Revolution would have happened if they set around talking shit in the pubs and never took action. Let's get out there and make waves instead of hiding behind names like "LookOutKokomo" or "notinkokomo". I for one have already wrote all my Representatives and sent a letter to the President. Better than "acting" like I did something.
