The Noel family can tell you endless Talbert stories going back to Marty's high school days, Casa Grand, Service attendant and early ISP days. They know many "old time troopers" from north/central Indiana. He would not make a "good pimple on a sherrif's butt" has always been their take on Talbert!!! The maintenance supervisor at Eastern schools tells some good stories as well, He is a former Trooper!
Whos Chris Sutton?

Interesting.
I have a second cousin who went to school with Marty out at NW. Said that Marty was always the kid everyone picked on, and teased, and would drag to the bathroom and give swirlies to... Thats probably why now he thinks he's so authoratative now, doesn't want to appear weak....

Default Marty Marty Marty

For those of us who remember prior to the first election, Ole' Marty boy took several deputies to lunch and dinner and made promises and asked for advice and then...poof he won the election, hired his best friend and became a raving lunatic...wait he already was. The last six years have done nothing to dispel that...so with 2 years left he is inconsequential...HE DOESN'T MATTER. Any employee who has withstood his ranting barrages for 6 yrs can do 2 standing on his/her head. Put up with his crap and pretty soon he will be gone. Or...maybe he will go off the deep end again and put his...no, he's already done that. Ask 4 county. Point is...start grooming the right person to right the ship. And he is not sitting over in the jail folks...u think u have Hitler now, ask the COs...and not the 10 up his butt every day. If you want a leader you have to bind together and get one. But, this place can't come together for a union so why should anyone think it can for a sheriff. We deserve what we get because we are our own worst enemy. So, if you will excuse me I have to load some lumber into my squad.

Yep, the good Captain still plans to be try and be our new Sheriff, if his buddy ex-Captain Fisher dont win the Sheriffs slot first................Talk about doom and gloom......................

Maybe we will get really lucky and one of these two will make Marty a major and we can enjoy him for eight more years.

Doom and gloom is close; but I think "Dumb and Dumber" is more appropriate for those two. They think they are so savvy and they are SO NOT.

Don't know if either one would actually make him a major, but both would tell him that to further their own aspirations!

Who were/are the deputies? I noticed a few seem to get special treatment.

Hummm this has overtones on a Sergeant who is very bitter. You see when a Sergeant and a few of his followers tried to start the union they were gun-ho because they had a plan. That plan was to be in control of the union affairs and make them feel important. As they talked more about the union I noticed the public and our job description began taking a back seat to having a union in place. Pretty soon when they thought the union would be resisted the originating group decide among theirselves that a work slow down was in order and began trying to sell this to the masses. Well, their little plan backfired as they began to lose support of the patrol officers who refused to drag their feet on calls .

No the officers are not “their own worst enemy”. The trouble makers and a person who wants to run for Sheriff in 2010 are the enemy. They constantly sit in roll call, solicited support and constantly bad mouth the Sheriff (past and present), fellow officers and corrections officers in roll call daily. Like everyone else I don’t care for the current Sheriff but life goes on. You say QUOTE: “Point is...start grooming the right person to right the ship. If you want a leader you have to bind together and get one”. END OF QUOTE.
Funny how a certain ranking officer has been trying to sell himself to everyone and has been saying the same thing in the above post. It seems that McKinney removed Talbert from the jail because of campaigning six and a half years ago. So why do we have to listen to someone constantly trying to make their case of why we need to vote for them everyday he works?
